Breakthrough Technology Announced for New Ammann Walk-Behind Rollers

Breakthrough Technology Announced for New Ammann Walk-Behind Rollers

Revolutionary Upgrades for Unparalleled Manuverability

Ammann walk-behind rollers provide great value dealing with landscaping, road construction, engineering, foundation work and many other applications. These machines combine two functions into one nimble piece of equipment as operators can use high-amplitude settings for work on loose gravel and soil ground or set a low-amplitude for harder asphalt and foundation materials. Additionally, Ammann diesel machines can make use of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90% on the jobsite.

With the recent updated release of the new ARW 65-S model, Ammann have reinvented the walk-behind roller and its capabilities on the jobsite. With innovation comes the enablement of movement not only backwards and forwards but now also laterally using a pivoting mechanism.

Ease of Control

Newly developed S versions of walk-behind rollers hold the ability to move left and right using the control handle due to these updated mechanisms. Internally hydraulic drums swivel to enable movement backwards and forwards and then can angle 15 degrees to move left or right directions. Operators only need to press one of two directional buttons on the steering unit to control the direction of the machine.

These changes are important for operators as moving the machine laterally requires incredibly less effort compared to alternatives which would require body weight to direct the machine. This improves processes and operator experience as the improved movement allows for less fatigue but also a smoother, more consistent surface result with less irregularities from lateral movement.

Retaining all the features of the original ARW65, the S version is now available in Europe with machines due to reach the Canadian market in 2024. These machines would be great for earthworks, asphalt application, pathway repairs, sports grounds and more.
